Privacy policy
Effective September 22, 2026
This policy covers every app published by 1week on Google Play and the App Store, and this website. 1week is one independent developer. The short version: your photos, files and other content stay on your device. The apps are free and show ads from Google AdMob, and those ads are the one place where data leaves your phone.
What I collect
Nothing on servers of my own. I don't run accounts, analytics or a backend. When an app works with your content, it does that work on the device, and the results stay on the device until you delete them or remove the app.
If you email me, I receive your address and whatever you write. I use it only to reply, and I delete it when it's no longer needed.
Ads from Google AdMob
Free versions of the apps show banner ads, and sometimes a full-screen ad after you finish a task. The ads come from Google AdMob. The Google Mobile Ads SDK inside the app may collect and share the following with Google and its advertising partners:

The apps never pass your photos, faces, files or anything you create to the ad SDK.
Your choices
- iOS: the app asks for permission to track before any personalized ads. If you decline, you still get every feature, with non-personalized ads. You can change this in Settings, Privacy & Security, Tracking.
- Android: you can reset or delete your advertising ID in Settings, Privacy, Ads.
- EEA, UK and Switzerland: a consent form from Google appears before ads are personalized. You can change your choice later from the app's settings.
- Remove ads: where an app offers a one-time "Remove ads" purchase, buying it stops ads and the ad data collection with them.

Purchases
In-app purchases are handled entirely by Apple or Google. I never see your payment details. The app only learns whether a purchase is active, so it can turn ads off.
Children
The apps are not directed at children under 13, and I don't knowingly collect data from them.
PhotoTidy (iOS)
- Photo library: PhotoTidy reads your library to find duplicates, screenshots, messenger downloads, places and tilted photos. All analysis runs on the iPhone. Photos are never uploaded.
- Faces: grouping by person uses on-device face detection. Only numeric face descriptors are stored, on the device, and you can erase them anytime in Settings.
- Private album: photos you move there are encrypted with AES-256 and kept inside the app. The key is protected by your PIN, Face ID and the iOS Keychain. I can't open it, and a forgotten PIN can't be recovered.
- Deleting and editing: nothing is deleted or changed without the iOS confirmation dialog.
- Ads: as described above. The "Remove ads" purchase turns them off.
Removing PhotoTidy deletes the photos in its private album and its analysis data. Without the app, nothing that's left can open them.
